L'Eglise Clinet 1990

Chateau L'Eglise Clinet

27 years

Offering sweet black currant liqueur, loamy soil, truffle, caramel, and spice notes, this medium to full-bodied, fleshy, low acid, fully mature 1990 can be enjoyed now and over the next decade. Release price: ($510.00/case) *** Seemingly close to its plateau of maturity, yet at the same time still relatively youthful and fresh, the dark plum/purple-colored 1990 is beginning to have a hint of amber at the edge. A sweet nose of cola, black cherry jam, smoke, malt chocolate, and earth is followed by a full-bodied, opulently textured wine with very little acidity, still noticeable tannin, a very chewy mid-section, and sweet, layered finish. A very impressive wine that continues to go from strength to strength. Anticipated maturity: Now-2023. Last tasted, 5/02.
